PodSpider Puts World's Largest Podcast Directory on Tap
More than 13,000 Podcasts Accessible

RapidSolution Software has released PodSpider, new software for Microsoft Windows that provides intuitive access to the world's largest directory of US and international podcasts.

In June 2005, Apple announced that its number of iTunes podcast subscribers had exceeded one million. RapidSolution has responded with PodSpider, a faster solution for Windows, and the only solution with a built-in, self-updating podcast directory database. Subscribed podcasts are automatically downloaded and can be played directly on the PC or copied to an MP3 player or iPod. PodSpider wraps every task a podcast listener needs to take into one easy-to-use solution.

PodSpider provides access to over 13,000 podcasts in various languages, organized into 25 subjects and more than 300 categories. Subjects like Sports, encompassing baseball and basketball broadcasts for example, are fully represented in addition to subjects like News and Comedy. The PodSpider Directory is so diversely populated that broadcasts on science or God can also be found. New podcasts from all over the world are added daily and reviewed by PodSpider to ensure full playability.

PodSpider's free MyCast service allows private podcasts to be listed in the PodSpider Directory. Podcasters anywhere in the world can use this free marketing channel to reach more listeners.

Podcasts are downloadable radio broadcasts that are playable on any MP3 player. Anyone can create podcasts and make them available to listeners worldwide via the Internet. More than just music and information, podcasting makes it possible to focus on themes that do not receive traditional radio attention. In the USA, many recognized broadcasters like National Public Radio now also offer podcasts. Podcasts from NASA on the last Discovery mission and from USsoccer.com are recent examples. Market researchers like The Diffusion Group have forecasted that the number of podcast listeners will grow significantly in the next years. The largest increase in the number of podcasts is currently driven by private users, who have created a vibrant, new world of entertainment and information.
