Panasonic trägt mit seiner ersten Indoor-Gemüsefarm zur Erhöhung der Selbstversorgungsquote von Singapur mit Gemüse bei

Panasonic Factory Solutions Asia Pacific (Panasonic) gab heute sein Pilotprojekt zur kommerziellen Versorgung des japanischen Restaurants Ootoya mit lokal angebautem Gemüse bekannt. Die japanischen Premium-Gemüsesorten roter Mini-Rettich, roter Blattsalat und Mizuna (Senfkraut) werden unter kontrollierten und optimierten Bedingungen in der ersten lizenzierten Indoor-Gemüsefarm des Stadtstaats angebaut. Im von Landknappheit gekennzeichneten Singapur, wo nur 8 % des konsumierten Gemüses auf lokalen Farmen* angebaut werden, will Panasonic mit seiner Technologie und Ernte zu der Vision der Agri-Food and Veterinary Authority (AVA) einer Erhöhung der Selbstversorgungsquote mit Blattgemüse beitragen. Ziel des Unternehmens ist es, seinen Beitrag zur lokalen Erzeugung bis zum GJ 2016, dem Geschäftsjahr mit Ende im März 2017, von den bisherigen 0,015 % auf 5 % zu steigern.

Der Anbau auf Mutterboden erfolgt pestizidfrei und entspricht den strengen Nahrungsmittel-Sicherheitsstandards der AVA. Unsere Indoor-Gemüsefarm ist zudem HACCP-zertifiziert. Da über 90 % der in Singapur konsumierten Lebensmittel importiert werden, hofft Panasonic, dass die Indoor-Gemüsefarm einen Beitrag zur Steigerung der Selbstversorgungsquote des Stadtstaats und gleichzeitig zur Verbesserung der Lebens- und Umweltqualität durch eine bessere Lebensmittelqualität leisten kann.”

Auf der 248 m2 großen landwirtschaftlichen Indoor-Nutzfläche werden aktuell 10 Gemüsesorten angebaut – grüner und roter Blattsalat, Mizuna (Senfkraut), roter und weißer Mini-Rettich, Rukolasalat, Basilikum, Ooba (Minzkraut), Mitsuba (wilde Petersilie) und Babyspinat. Blatt- und Wurzelgemüse werden in einer kontrollierten Umgebung auf Mutterbodenbasis unter LED-Licht angebaut. Zur Zeit liegt die gesamte Produktionskapazität bei 3,6 Tonnen pro Jahr. Dieser lokale Indoor-Anbau bietet den Kunden ein erhebliches Einsparungspotenzial im Vergleich zu den Preisen für japanisches Importgemüse der gleichen Sorten.

Das Unternehmen steigert seine Forschungs- und Entwicklungsaktivitäten zur Erhöhung des Ertrags durch gesteigerte Regalfläche und Flächenproduktivität (vertikaler Anbau), zur Verkürzung der Anbauzeit von 35 Tagen auf 28 Tage und zur Ausweitung der Artenvielfalt. Bis zum GJ 2016 will Panasonic über 30 Gemüsesorten anbauen.

Panasonic wird innerhalb dieses Geschäftsjahrs eine Untersuchung der Marktnachfrage zur Erweiterung des Angebots auf Restaurants und Supermärkte durchführen. Zur Zeit liefert das Unternehmen durchschnittlich 0,3 Tonnen pro Monat an alle drei Ootoya-Filialen in Singapur – Changi City Point, Clementi Mall und Orchard Central. Das Unternehmen zielt darauf ab, diese Menge in den nächsten beiden Jahren zu verdoppeln und ein breiteres Sortiment auch von nicht lokal erzeugten japanischen Premium-Gemüsesorten an Ootoya-Restaurants zu liefern.

Das Gemüse wird von Panasonics Indoor-Gemüsefarm täglich frisch an die Ootoya-Restaurants geliefert, wodurch eine konstante Erntequalität gewährleistet wird.
