My.com lance @my.com - Le service de messagerie électronique disponible uniquement sur portable

Nouveau service e-mail faisant partie de myMail, l'application mobile qui permet de gérer de multiples comptes de messagerie

Mountain View, Californie - 16 mai 2014 -- My.com, une filiale du groupe Mail.Ru, a annoncé le lancement d'un nouveau service gratuit de messagerie électronique disponible uniquement sur portable, avec @my.com comme nom de domaine. Les utilisateurs peuvent s'inscrire dès aujourd'hui pour créer une nouvelle adresse e-mail via leur téléphone ou tablette iOS ou Android. Avec le service de messagerie électronique @my.com, les utilisateurs n'ont pas besoin de créer un mot de passe au moment de leur inscription - une première dans la sécurité des services e-mail.

Le portable occupant une place de plus en plus importante à travers le monde, il fallait réinventer la messagerie électronique. Bien qu'étant disponible uniquement sur portable, le service e-mail @my.com est conçu au sein de l'application myMail de My.com, lancée en novembre 2013. Ainsi, avec @my.com, les utilisateurs bénéficient de communications mobiles immédiates, et de notifications push instantanées et flexibles offertes par myMail. Conçu pour les smartphones et les tablettes, @my.com est toujours disponible immédiatement.

« La messagerie électronique a fait ses débuts sur l'ordinateur de bureau et est passée au portable sans qu'on ait vraiment réfléchi à la manière dont les personnes utilisaient leurs appareils mobiles. Nous avons adopté une nouvelle approche de l'e-mail mobile, répondant au besoin des utilisateurs d'un moyen flexible, sécurisé et léger de communiquer par e-mail, » explique Dmitry Grishin, co-fondateur et PDG du groupe Mail.Ru.

Les mots de passe volés, le piratage et le hameçonnage appartiennent désormais au passé. My.com utilise les technologies mobiles dernier cri pour garantir un accès sécurisé, chose courante dans les autres services mobiles tels que la messagerie instantanée. Le compte de messagerie électronique est vérifié en saisissant un code d'activation envoyé sur le portable de l'utilisateur. Afin d'offrir un niveau de sécurité supplémentaire, l'ensemble du trafic e-mail transitant par myMail est crypté.

Outre une vaste gamme de fonctionnalités d'e-mail mobile, @my.com propose un grand choix de noms de compte courts et gratuits. De plus, @my.com offre 150 Go de stockage gratuit pour les e-mails, soit 10 fois plus que ce que propose Google avec Gmail.

Selon une étude réalisée par Yesmail Interactive, le nombre de personnes consultant leurs e-mails uniquement sur un appareil mobile a augmenté de 64 % durant le deuxième semestre 2013. Le nombre d'utilisateurs hybrides - vérifiant leurs e-mails sur leur ordinateur de bureau et sur leurs appareils mobiles - a baissé de près de 40 % d'un trimestre à l'autre, et de 72 % depuis le deuxième trimestre 2013. Le nombre de personnes consultant leurs e-mails uniquement sur un ordinateur de bureau a augmenté de 5 % seulement.

Les personnes optent pour des systèmes mobiles leur permettant de recevoir des notifications personnelles et instantanées, et d'être toujours en contact avec leur famille et leurs amis. En outre, ils utilisent leur portable pour l'accès immédiat à leurs e-mails, qui est en train de devenir le moyen le plus rapide de contacter quelqu'un.
