GreenBytes IO Offload Engine and vIO Achieve VMware Ready(TM) Status

PROVIDENCE, RI -- (Marketwired) -- 04/21/14 -- GreenBytes®, Inc., a developer of full-featured desktop virtualization storage optimization software, today announced that its IO Offload Engine and vIO virtual storage appliance have achieved VMware Ready™ status. This designation indicates that after a detailed validation process, IO Offload Engine and vIO v4 have achieved VMware's highest level of endorsement, and can be found on the VMware Solution Exchange (VSX) by visiting here for the IO Offload Engine and here for vIO.

"By using GreenBytes' IO Offload Engine and vIO virtual storage appliance with vSphere 5.5, enterprises can achieve a highly performant virtual desktop infrastructure without complicated workarounds, providing customers with a streamlined VDI implementation that offers a cost-effective, fully persistent virtual desktop," said Michael Richtberg, VP of Product Management at GreenBytes. "Additionally, with GreenBytes' updated VMware vSphere v5.5 Storage Replication Adapter (SRA) certification, users can leverage our unique deduplication capabilities, making data replication from site to site extremely efficient. Limited incremental copy events enable high availability at lower costs while conserving time and WAN bandwidth."

"We are pleased that GreenBytes' IO Offload Engine and vIO qualify for the VMware Ready™ logo, signifying to customers that they have met specific VMware integration and interoperability standards and work effectively with VMware infrastructure, which can speed time to value within customer environments," said Sanjay Katyal, vice president, Global Strategic Alliances, VMware.

The VMware Ready program is a co-branding benefit of the Technology Alliance Partner (TAP) program that makes it easy for customers to identify partner products certified to work with VMware cloud infrastructure. Customers can use these products and solutions to lower project risks and realize cost savings over custom built solutions. With thousands of members worldwide, the VMware TAP program includes best-of-breed technology partners with the shared commitment to bring the best expertise and business solution for each unique customer need.
