Dell has launched a new version of its Secure Mobile Access solution that allows administrators to restrict which applications can connect to the corporate network based on the specific security permissions assigned to individual users and devices. The Pentagon plans to triple its cybersecurity staff by 2016, U.S. Secretary of Defense Chuck Hagel announced recently. A few days later, FBI Supervisory Special Agent Charles Gilgen said at a conference on cybercrime that his agency’s cyber division plans to hire 1,000 agents and 1,000 analysts in the coming year. The cybersecurity market has had its share of M&A activity, headlined by Cisco Systems' $2.7 billion deal for Sourcefire last year and FireEye's early January deal to acquire Mandiant for $1 billion.
