Trustpilot waarborgt financiering voor $25 miljoen en versnelt groei

Trustpilot, de toonaangevende gemeenschap voor beoordelingen van personen die online aankopen doen, heeft vandaag aangekondigd dat het $25 miljoen heeft aangetrokken in de Serie C-financiering. Dit is het resultaat van de 117 procent groei die het bedrijf heeft doorgemaakt voor zijn nu meer dan vijf miljoen tellende bestand van klanten die online hun commentaren posten op Trustpilot. De wereldwijde uitbreiding is ook te zien aan de opening van nieuwe kantoren in New York en Londen.

De meest recente transactieronde van $25 miljoen stond onder leiding van DFJ Esprit in Londen en DFJ in Menlo Park, Calif., met de deelname van alle bestaande investeerders; Index Ventures, Northzone en Seed Capital. DFJ investeerde al eerder in Skype, en is mede opgericht door de Deense ondernemer, Janus Friis.

Nu klanten zich steeds meer richten op vrienden en metgezellen voor adviezen bij hun aankoopbesluiten, verschaft Trustpilot bedrijven de hulpmiddelen en technologie die nodig zijn voor een efficiënte integratie van merkbeoordelingen in hun communicatie naar klanten toe.

Trustpilot verschaft nu beoordelingen over ruim 70.000 e-commerce bedrijven aan de hand van TrustScores gebaseerd op meer dan zes miljoen commentaren. Elke maand voegt Trustpilot 2.000 nieuwe verkopers en meer dan 300.000 consumenten aan zijn gemeenschap toe. Tot de bedrijfsklanten van Trustpilot horen Travelocity, Mazuma Mobile, B&H, lastminute.com, Express Watches en ebookers. Ook is het een belangrijke provider van reviews voor het Google Shopping programma en Google’s verkopersbeoordelingen.

Trustpilot werd opgericht in 2007 en heeft nu 160 medewerkers in Kopenhagen, Londen en New York. Peter Mühlmann is onlangs door Ernst & Young uitgeroepen als Deense Ondernemer van het jaar en in 2013 werd Trustpilot erkend als winnaar van de ‘Deense starter van het jaar’ op de Next Web Start up European Awards.
