Mobile ad network Tapjoy has just published a new report highlighting the mobile habits of holiday travelers. They found that, “Mobile devices are an integral part of the consumer travel experience.  Whether looking for a deal or booking a trip, travelers are commanding 20 percent of smartphone and tablet Internet traffic, and that statistic will grow as they plan out their trips for the holiday season.”  Read Original Content

Independent research commissioned by mobile solutions company Peak-Ryzex has revealed 85 percent of IT decision makers see mobile computing as having the greatest benefit in customer service, with 45 percent of those surveyed already using mobile computing for competitive advantage.  Read Original Content

Nokia Corporation and BlackBerry Ltd still have strong brands in the developing world according to a recent survey. Smartphone market research firm Jana asked 2,500 people which smartphone they would most like to own if price wasn’t an issue, and the two fading brands fared better than you would expect based on their European and North American sales.  Read Original Content

Nielsen recently published a range of year-end data. Among other things the measurement firm said 65 percent of American cell phone users now own smartphones. By comparison comScore says the figure is 62 percent. Regardless, it means there are now more than 150 million smartphone users in the US.  Read Original Content

According to Adobe’s Digital Index 2013 online shopping data for Cyber Monday, online sales for the day increased by 16 percent year-over-year to $2.29 billion. A record 18.3 percent of sales came from mobile devices, an increase of 80 percent. According to BGR, Samsung has lowered its projections from 360 million unit shipments down to 330 million, the second major reported cut for the South Korean company in the past two months. What was originally expected to be a year of at least 25 percent growth for Samsung's handset business has now been whittled down to just 14 percent.  Read Original Content

UPS has announced the new UPS Mobile App for Amazon's Kindle Fire tablets, giving customers another way to quickly and easily manage their holiday packages.
