The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA)® today announced exhibitors for the 2013 CES on the Hill, an invitation-only event providing policy makers the opportunity to interact with the technology companies and products that are revolutionizing the way we live, work and play. These innovations are also driving some of the most critical, current technology policy debates. CES on the Hill will run from 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday, April 16, 2013 at the Rayburn House Office Building Cafeteria (B-357). Media-only tours of the exhibits will start at 5:30 p.m. and run throughout the duration of the event.
“Companies with extraordinary technologies were selected based on their product’s connection to today’s most pressing tech policy issues,” said Michael Petricone, senior vice president, government and regulatory affairs, CEA. “Members of Congress, key Hill staff and top media will get rare hands-on demonstrations of Ultra HD and new technologies for medical solutions, electronics recycling, energy efficiency and more.”
Selected CES on the Hill exhibitors and technologies include:
- American Automation & Communications Inc. – Provides control, communication and entertainment systems for the home
- AT&T – It Can Wait virtual reality simulator shows what it’s like to text while driving, revealing hindered capabilities first-hand
- BlackBerry – BlackBerry 10 and solutions like BlackBerry Balance demonstrate how technological advances are improving privacy and cybersecurity
- DIRECTV – Energy-efficient Genie lets you enjoy a full HD DVR experience on every TV in your home, without seeing a box in every room
- DISH – Hopper with Sling whole-home HD DVR and dishNET high speed Internet
- ecoATM INC. – Automated self-serve e-cycling kiosk that uses advanced machine vision, electronics diagnostics and artificial intelligence to evaluate and buy back used electronics directly from consumers
- Google – Chromebooks and Chrome OS deliver a computing experience that is faster, easier and more secure
- HealthSpot – Promoting the HealthSpot Station which enables patient access to medical diagnostics from board certified doctors via high-definition video conferencing and interactive, digital medical devices
- HTC – The new HTC One will show the world’s first zero-gap full metal unibody design and more than 300 new features
- Intel Corp. – Showing its mobile collaborative model, a mobile medical device used by physicians
- LG Electronics USA - Ushering in a new era in home entertainment, the LG 84-inch Ultra HD set, with 8 million pixels, four times Full HD resolution
- Livio – The FM Connect system allows FM broadcasters to have two-way communication with listeners in the car using connected smartphones
- Microsoft Corp. – Showcasing integrated technology of Xbox with Kinect, Surface Pro, Windows 8 laptops and Windows 8 phones
- Panasonic – Smart Viera TVs with My Home Screen, Swipe & Share 2.0, Touch Pen, voice guidance and voice interaction, plus bone conduction headphones and 20-inch 4k tablet
- Pandora Internet Radio – Brings the Music Genome Project to life on more than 1,000 connected devices
- Qualcomm – Showcasing cutting edge wireless technology enabled by Snapdragon processors, plus wireless solutions to improve health care and education
- Samsung Electronics– Bringing Series 8000 LED Smart TV and Samsung For Enterprise (SAFE) mobile security built into the Samsung Galaxy mobile phones and tablet
- Verizon – Displaying how its advanced technology delivers powerful solutions to some of society’s most pressing problems in healthcare and public safety
- VOXX International Corp. – Car Connection telematics OBD and Klipsch advance home and personal audio
New for this year, CES on the Hill will include a dedicated showcase area for exhibitors from the Eureka Park TechZone at the 2013 International CES®, the world’s leading innovation event. The Eureka Park exhibits showcased some of the hottest startups and entrepreneurs at the 2013 CES. Eureka Park exhibitors at CES on the Hill include:
- Dock-n-Lock – A safe driving system to prevent dangerous texting and talking while driving. Installs like a breathalyzer and requires the driver to “dock and lock” the phone before starting the vehicle
- FutureDash – EnergyBuddy Home Energy Monitoring System provides real-time feedback of electrical energy consumption through vivid dashboard displays on smartphones, tablets and computers
- Troop ID – A digital identification product that provides reputable organizations with a secure digital channel to provide benefits, services and skill training opportunities to service members, veterans and their families without fear of fraud
In conjunction with CES on the Hill, the ninth annual Digital Patriots Dinner will take place on Wednesday, April 17 and will honor Senator Jerry Moran, Congressmen Jared Polis and Greg Walden, and DISH CEO Joseph Clayton for their roles in advancing innovation through contributions to the legal and regulatory framework that allows the CE industry to flourish.
