Global data center services provider CyrusOne, (NASDAQ:CONE), has announced its new Carrollton, Texas, facility is the fifth CyrusOne data center location in Texas to earn TIA-942 certification and comply with PCI-DSS.

The Telecommunications Industry Association’s TIA-942 is the American National Standard for data center telecommunication infrastructure. This standard specifies the minimum requirements for telecommunications infrastructure of data centers, as well as other important factors, including architecture, electrical, and mechanical. For each of these factors, the data center is categorized in four class levels (Class 1-4), and includes an overall class-level rating.
“The Class 4 TIA-942 certification of our Carrollton facility demonstrates our commitment to serving customers with the highest levels of resiliency and redundancy,” said Michael Duckett, chief operations officer, CyrusOne. “As the proliferation of mission-critical data management continues, third-party audits, like the TIA-942, provide IT professionals with an additional key measure when reviewing data center specifications. By combining the TIA-942 with PCI-DSS compliance, our Carrollton customers benefit from the added peace of mind that their infrastructure is not only resilient and redundant, but highly secure as well.”
CyrusOne specializes in highly reliable enterprise data center colocation, engineering facilities with the highest power redundancy (2N architecture) and power-density infrastructure required to deliver excellent availability. The company’s 640,000 square foot Carrollton data center officially opened in August 2012 following first-phase completion. Based on CyrusOne’s “Massively Modular®” design philosophy, the facility can ultimately deliver 400,000 square feet of raised white floor data center space and approximately 60,000 square feet of class A office space to accommodate customers’ employees.
Other CyrusOne locations in Texas to earn TIA-942 certification and comply with PCI-DSS include Austin (The Mets Center II), San Antonio, Houston West, and North Dallas (Lewisville). As part of the company’s Sky for the Cloud™ peering and interconnection enablement platform, all four of these major market facilities are interconnected. The first statewide Internet exchange in the United States the CyrusOne Texas IX is scheduled to launch by the end of March 2013.
