Discovix is pleased to announce a new way to derive valuable insight from massive data sets. The company has unveiled its patented Curiosity Engine, a significant advance in Big Data Analytics providing the legal, enterprise, and government sectors with the power to sort through large, unstructured data sets and uncover important trends and patterns in ways never before possible. The Discovix Curiosity Engine adds human insight and expertise to the discovery process, continually training the software, allowing it to make smarter and more in-depth data analysis.
“By using simple human insight, we illicit a more powerful and relevant story from unmanageable amounts of unstructured data,” says Discovix co-founder and President Steve Ernst. “We like to refer to this as human intuition at computer speed. Our Curiosity Engine will learn what the user wants from the data to return more and more robust results.”
Discovix is the brainchild of Ernst and co-founder Brian Dolan, two veterans with years of experience in Big Data Analytics. Ernst is the former Chief Technology Officer for Banks.com, where he was responsible for the technology that handled the needs of tens of millions of customers. Dolan, the company’s VP of Product, has been a thought leader on Machine Learning and Big Data for more than 20 years. He was previously at Fox Interactive and Yahoo, and has been a featured speaker at numerous conferences and symposiums.
“We designed our system to be easy to use, so you don’t have to be an advanced data engineer to get high-level information from it,” says Dolan. “It isn’t just for static data either. This can be used for live data mining; looking at tweets, blog postings, emails, and even pictures and videos that are happening right now. The applications are endless.”
Discovix has raised $1 million in seed capital from private equity firms GCP and Porton Group. New funding will allow the company to build its technology infrastructure as well as add key staff, further product development, and enhance marketing efforts.
