Consumer Cellular (www.consumercellular.com), the number-one rated cellphone service and exclusive wireless provider for AARP members, has been selected as one of the 100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon by Oregon Business Magazine. This is the third consecutive year Consumer Cellular has received this honor.
The 100 Best Companies to Work For in Oregon list recognizes large, medium and small companies for excellence in best practices toward creating great places to work. More than 13,000 employees from 263 companies throughout Oregon participated in this year’s 100 Best survey, and after compiling the results, Oregon Business ranked Consumer Cellular as No. 17 in the large company category, which recognizes businesses with more than 100 employees in Oregon.
“Being named one of the 100 Best Places to Work in Oregon is an incredible honor,” said John Marick, Consumer Cellular CEO. “We’re glad to see that even as our Consumer Cellular team has grown, our employees still see the same values and culture that we began the organization with in 1995.”
In addition to this award, Consumer Cellular has also been named by The Oregonian as the number one mid-size company to work for in Oregon and SW Washington, and honored on Inc. Magazine’s “Hire Power” list of the nation’s top job creators. The company has continued its strong momentum into 2013 with an expansion of its retail presence throughout Sears stores nationwide, and it surpassed one million subscribers in February. To celebrate, Consumer Cellular split a $1 million gift between its employees and five national charities.
Complete results of this year’s 100 Best survey, including company profiles can be found here: http://oregon100best.com/. Oregon Business has conducted the annual study of best practices for the past 20 years. The survey has two parts: a satisfaction survey completed by employees and a benefits survey completed by management. Rankings are derived from scores of both parts of the survey. The winners were revealed at the 100 Best awards dinner on March 1 and published in the March 2012 issue of Oregon Business.
