Snoox, the social-recommendations platform that brings you trusted recommendations from friends, publicly unveiled its first mobile app today, bringing the versatile platform to your fingertips. The new mobile app is available for both iOS and Android letting users easily find and recommend their favorite things while on the go.
Snoox launched in November of last year and was built on the premise that users turn to friends to find recommendations for new products, venues, and content. Now the company is leveraging the $2 million in funding it has raised to extend that experience to mobile, ensuring that users have a seamless experience across multiple platforms anywhere they go.
Imagine you’re looking for a great place to eat or fun place to visit in your area. Now you can see the nearby places and things your friends have recommended, not just reviews of what’s close. Alternatively, picture yourself sitting in your new favorite restaurant or that you just saw an amazing movie and you want to recommend it.
The company has added new features that take specific advantage of mobile devices’ capabilities including:
- Location based search – See recommendations for places and venues that are in your area
- Photo uploads – Quickly snap a photo and add it to a recommendation
- Easy recommendation creation – Create a recommendation based on your location or from a photo uploaded from your phone
- Easy-to-use mobile interface – The Snoox mobile app lets you easily swipe through recommendations
“With our mobile app, we set the goal of bringing all of the best elements of Snoox to your phone, and to take that experience to the next level with unique features for mobile devices,” said Guy Poreh, founder of Snoox. “We think that our mobile app gives users a whole new way to use Snoox, to recommend the things they love, and to find recommendations from their friends. It’s now easier than ever to find something new, add a great image, and to recommend it to all your friends. On the go. Wherever. Whenever.”
About Snoox:
Snoox is a social recommendations engine that lets you search and discover top recommendations from friends, and share your own favorite places and things. Each day, decisions are made on where to go, what to do, and what to purchase based on friends’ suggestions offline. Snoox takes these interactions online by creating searchable social recommendations, on any topic – all in one beautiful, image-based site. Snoox is currently available on the web, as a Facebook app, and on leading mobile OSs with other platforms soon to follow.
