Advertising Age bezog sich am vergangenen Montag auf einige wichtige Erkenntnisse dieser zweiten Ausgabe des Evidon Global Tracker Report. Zu den wichtigsten Erkenntnissen gehörte u.a., dass das Tracking-Ökosystem 2012 um 53 Prozent gewachsen ist. Dieser dramatische Anstieg zeigt, wie die Datenerfassung und das Targeting-Ökosystem an Trackern das Online-Geschäft sowohl von Käufern und Verkäufern, als auch das Online-Erlebnis von Verbrauchern verbessert.

Die erste Ausgabe des Global Tracker Reports von Juni letzten Jahres offenbarte, dass im ersten Quartal 2012 Google Analytics, Google AdSense, Facebook Social Plugins, Google +1 und Facebook Connect die fünf aktivsten Tracking-Dienste waren. Die zweite Ausgabe trifft Google Analytics weiterhin an der Spitze der Tracking-Nahrungskette an, wobei sich jedoch Facebook Connect jetzt auf Platz 2 befindet, gefolgt von Google AdSense, dem Facebook "Gefällt-mir"-Button und Google +1.

Gleichermaßen interessant, und möglicherweise mehr beunruhigend für Veröffentlicher und Verbraucher, ist die Nachricht, dass mehr als die Hälfte der Tracking-Technologien innerhalb des Internets, nämlich 55 Prozent, über andere Tracker auf Websites gelangen. Ein unbekannter oder ausschweifender Tracking-Code kann die Ladezeiten von Seiten verlangsamen und die geheime Erfassung von Verbraucherdaten unterstützen.
