Google Unveils Chromebook Pixel: A Touchscreen Laptop

Chromebook PixelGoogle has just announced the release of the Chromebook Pixel, its first touchscreen display computer starting at $1,299. It is available today in the Google Play store. This new Chromebook comes complete with a Gorilla Glass multi-touch screen, 12.85-inch display, 2560 x 1700 screen, 4GB of DDR3 RAM, 32GB solid state drive and 1TB of Google Drive cloud storage (free for three years). Sundar Pinchai, Google’s SVP of Chrome and Apps took the stage at the company’s latest media event to announce the news. He said that the company has been working for the past year to create a device that could be a second or third computer for the home. It started with $249 Samsung Chromebook that was number one on Amazon for the 155 days it’s been on sale, and continued with the launch of its Acer Chromebook.
