I have no idea what’s going on with the Internet browsers, but it is driving me crazy. I thought I had finally managed to get myself organized so that I could work without crashes and hickups. Well, it looks like I was wrong.
For what ever reason Facebook keeps crashing Shockwave in Chrome. So I had to move my work to another browser as it was extrememly annoying when Shockwave crashed Chrome and with it all my work.
I switched Facebook to IE and it seems stable there, no Shockwave crashes.
I chose Firefox as my work browser and everything went fine until this year. I have to use VPN login to work on sites and when the company tightened security and added double login things just went haywire. There seems to be now a Java vulnerablity that has not been fixed and so Mozilla decided to block Java which I need to log into the secure VPN site. The strange thing is that this setup works perfectly on my laptop, but not on my desktop. Strange, very strange.
As I prefer working on my desktop with the big monitor, now what should I do? A quick Google search revealed that IE does not use Java but ActiveX. Switching over to IE would eliminate the Java problem.
That meant I have switch my whole setup around again. IE for work, Firefox for Facebook and Chrome for email links. So I gave it a try and it works.
I could have never imagined that I would have to use all three browsers for things running smoothly.
I would love to hear if you also have problems and how you solved them. I am looking forward to reading your comments.
