NASHUA, N.H., Feb. 13, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Kentico Software, the Web Content and Customer Experience Management provider, today presented Great British Chefs with the Kentico Site of the Year 2012 Award.
"We are ecstatic to have been recognized by Kentico for launching the Kentico Site of the Year using the Kentico EMS platform," said Ollie Lloyd, CEO at Great British Chefs. "We strive to provide anyone cooking in the UK with a place to go online where they can learn, share and talk about great food with other cooks and Britain's finest chefs. With Kentico, we are able to provide a high-quality, multimedia experience with all kinds of sticky content, social media and highly active community engagement."
The Kentico-powered Great British Chefs site is a premium brand providing food lovers with recipes, tips and how-to videos from the very best chefs in Britain. After launching a much simpler site in 2011, Great British Chefs realized they required a much more scalable and customizable solution. Since relaunching on Kentico EMS, site traffic increased from 50,000 to more than 350,000 in December—an increase of more than 600 percent. Additionally, organic site traffic has increased 1,878 percent, SEOmoz ranking has increased exponentially, and all social sharing and community building has grown considerably—including 42,000 new Facebook Likes and 190,000 new Google+ followers.
"We needed to make sure all our content was presented in a way that allowed our community of foodies to engage with chefs in as many ways possible," added Martin Malloy, Senior UX/UI Developer at Great British Chefs. "Site speed was key, and with Kentico we were able to strike that fine balance of providing a very attractive, media-filled experience without frustrating users with excessive load times."
Each year, the Kentico Site of the Year contest seeks out the best Kentico CMS and Kentico EMS website implementations worldwide using both public online voting as well as selection by Kentico executives.
"We commend Great British Chefs and all our winners in the way they were able to use Kentico CMS and Kentico EMS to create premium online experiences for their audiences," said Petr Palas, CEO and founder of Kentico Software. "While we amazed by the great number of excellent Kentico-powered sites, we thought Great British Chefs went the extra mile in taking advantage of so many Kentico EMS features to create a truly immersive and community-building experience, and voters clearly agreed with us."
