Hadoop Summit Europe 2013, the European extension of the original and world’s largest Apache Hadoop community conference, today announced its official program, featuring a keynote address from 451 Group Analyst and Research Manager for Data Management and Analytics Matt Aslett and 40 use cases and educational sessions from leading industry and community experts. In addition, Hadoop Summit Europe 2013 boasts an impressive list of Platinum, Gold and Silver sponsors, demonstrating ecosystem support for Apache Hadoop from leading producers of software and services for the enterprise.
Hadoop Summit Europe will be the first and largest European conference focused exclusively on accelerating the enterprise adoption of Apache Hadoop, held at the historic Beurs van Berlage in Amsterdam on March 20-21, 2013. The event features sponsors ranging from traditional software companies to open source analytics vendors, confirming strong European interest in Hadoop.

In addition to the keynote from Aslett, Hadoop Summit Europe attendees will have access to industry and thought leaders representing organizations like Adobe, Facebook, Intel, LinkedIn, National Library of Netherlands, Twitter and more. Conference participants will also have the opportunity to share their initiatives with the Hadoop community through Hadoop Summit Europe’s Lightning Talks session, where attendees can share their own stories in 5-minute presentations. Lightning Talk suggestions can be voted on by the community through the Hadoop Summit Europe community choice. The conference is designed to encourage interaction and sharing with ample time for exchange of ideas. Additionally, there will be a number of Hadoop community events occurring around the event including the Big Data Camp and Birds of a Feather sessions.
“We’re excited to bring Hadoop Summit to Europe for the first time, providing the European community with information and discussion on how to leverage Apache Hadoop as a key component of an enterprise data architecture,” said Rob Bearden, CEO of Hortonworks. “Based on the enormous community interest to participate, and the tremendous ecosystem and sponsorship support, we’re confident that this Hadoop Summit will be a great success.
