Stitcher, the mobile leader in on-demand news, entertainment, sports and talk radio, today released a major update to its popular Stitcher Radio App for iPhone, iPad and iPod touch, bringing users their new 'Topic Search' feature. The new feature is powered by transcription technology that allows listeners to discover trending topics across more than 15,000 shows. From the standard search bar, listeners can now explore across a breadth of sources, view total topic mentions within episodes and use one-click audio links to jump to specific segments of the audio clip.
“Listeners will now be able to easily discover topic based audio at their fingertips, across a vast range of sources and episodes,” said Noah Shanok, CEO of Stitcher. “We see this as part of our mission to further the evolution of radio by making it more relevant and accessible than ever.”
Other enhancements included in the update are:
- Improved Performance – Better handling of live radio streaming under poor network conditions.
- Better Episode Management – Heard/Unheard indicator added to episode lists.
- Improved Voiceover mode – Additional fixes and enhancement to Voiceover mode.
- Auto Integration Enhancements – Improved visual experience with full album art for BMW and MINI connected drivers.
The Stitcher Radio App is available for free from the App Store on iPhone, iPad and iPod touch or at www.appstore.com/StitcherRadio.
