Workshare, a leading provider of secure enterprise collaboration applications, today announced that its Chief Marketing Officer, Ali Moinuddin, has been elected the 2013 chair of AIIM’s Executive Leadership Council (ELC) in Europe and to the AIIM Board of Directors in North America. The Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM) is the leading non-profit industry association that helps organizations find, control and optimize information.
As chair of the ELC, Moinuddin will ensure the council’s primary goals are carried forth. These are: articulating the impact of new technologies – including social, mobile and the cloud – on the workplace and defining specific use cases for technologies to transform organizations and the ways of working. He will also participate in the development of white papers, solution guides and other essential toolkits for broad distribution to the AIIM community. As an AIIM member for two years, Moinuddin has led a number of seminars and webinars with the organization on the topic of Enterprise Content Management (ECM), Document Management Systems (DMS), and collaboration and information management. The ELC meets twice a year in North America and Europe.
In addition to Workshare, members of the council include representatives from Cisco, IBM, Microsoft, Kodak, Oracle, SAP, Pitney Bowes, Canon and EMC. Moinuddin’s appointment, effective January 1, 2013 for a two-year term, was previously held by a representative from Google.
“This is a great opportunity to learn from our peer group and contribute to the debate on how to best serve big data professionals in a fast-moving and dynamic environment, where BYOD, the consumerization of IT and the adoption of cloud-based services have changed the way in which traditional ECM and Document Management Systems are provisioned and managed,” said Moinuddin. “The challenge for most organizations is meeting users’ expectations for documents to be available anytime and anywhere on an easy-to-use collaboration platform, while also adhering to IT requirements for intellectual property security.”
“Ali has been working with AIIM over the last two years and has shown a great understanding of the market dynamics in the enterprise and content management space,” said John F. Mancini, president and CEO of AIIM. “His skillset will be invaluable to us as he takes on the ELC chair position to promote the objectives of AIIM.”
Workshare enables professionals to accurately create, control, collaborate on, and share high-value documents without changing the way they currently work. Through software that integrates within popular ECM and DMS productivity tools, Workshare improves the efficiency and security of the collaborative process. Today more than 1.8 million professionals in 70 countries use Workshare’s award-winning desktop, mobile, tablet, and web applications.
