Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. y O3b Networks expanden su alianza comercial para proporcionar a los pasajeros del Crucero Allure of the Seas comunicaciones de Internet ultrarápidas y accesibles

O3b Networks firmó un histórico segundo acuerdo por varios años con Royal Caribbean Cruises Ltd. para proveer un servicio de banda ancha satelital de alta velocidad al crucero más grande e innovador del mundo, el Allure of the Seas. Más de 8.000 personas incluyendo pasajeros, miembros del personal y tripulación recorriendo el Caribe podrán conectarse utilizando velocidades similares a las de la fibra óptica en el medio del mar.

Por medio de un acuerdo firmado el verano pasado, Royal Caribbean fue el primero en utilizar el nuevo ofrecimiento marítimo de O3b, denominado O3bMaritime, en el Oasis of the Seas, buque gemelo del Allure of the Seas. En la actualidad los pasajeros y tripulación a bordo del Allure of the Seas podrán realizar descargas y ejecutar programas a velocidades increíbles que se espera sean cuatro veces más confiables que los sistemas satelitales GEO existentes y programados. O3bMaritime será el único sistema satelital que permitirá a los pasajeros y la tripulación del crucero el uso de servicios de banda ancha a la altura de las normas de telecomunicación terrestre.
