NEW YORK, Jan. 10, 2013 /PRNewswire/ -- Oisin Hanrahan, Founder of Handybook, a startup that provides quick and reliable household service provider booking, last night hosted the inaugural meeting of the NY Digital Irish, bringing together nearly one hundred Irish individuals from organizations like General Assembly, HBO, Time Inc., Google, Audible and the New York Times. The group gathered in Handybook's New York City office, located in the Puck Building in SOHO, to discuss growing tech companies in NYC and network with digital media influencers and their peers in the digital media industry.
Feargall Kenny, organizer of the NY Digital Irish, said, "I'm really excited about the opportunity to bring together so many talented Irish people involved in technology in New York. The opportunity to really build a community is fantastic, and the level of enthusiasm from people has been extremely encouraging so far."
The NY Digital Irish group, composed of Irish expatriates and Irish Americans who work explicitly in the digital media arena, provides networking resources for digital startups and established businesses alike. Irish individuals working in the social media, mobile, online advertising, digital agency, search, analytics, video, eCommerce and online-centric business-to-customer or business to business sectors can turn to the NY Digital Irish group for resources and support in future business ventures.
During the January 9th inaugural event, Oisin Hanrahan presented information about Handybook, an online search tool that can be used to book an appointment with a household service professional, without the hassle of sifting through price quotes and matching availability. Currently available in the Boston and New York City markets, Handybook is the easiest, quickest and most reliable way to book a service provider for cleaning and household jobs.
"We were absolutely delighted to host the NY Digital Irish," said Oisin Hanrahan, Handybook Founder. "Events like last night's NY Digital Irish meet-up fit with our aim to develop a strong connection with the local community. We look forward to hosting future community events."
