Toshiba lança sensor de imagem CMOS altamente sensível de 20MP BSI

A Toshiba Corporation (TOKYO: 6502) anunciou hoje que vai lançar um novo sensor de imagem CMOS de 20 megapixels (MP), o TCM5115CL, como a mais recente adição à sua linha de sensores para câmeras fotográficas digitais. O TCM5115CL oferece a mais alta resolução da indústria em formato óptico de 1/2,3 polegadas, que usa tecnologia de iluminação de fundo (BSI) para melhorar a sensibilidade e o desempenho da imagem.

Amostras do novo sensor estarão disponíveis no final de janeiro de 2013 e produção em massa posteriormente, em agosto de 2013.

Avanços contínuos na resolução oferecida por câmeras compactas digitais—agora na faixa de 10 a 16MP — trouxeram o desafio de melhorar a qualidade de imagem e desempenho com pixels menores. O TCM5115CL faz exatamente isso ao alcançar uma melhoria de 15% na capacidade máxima total—a quantidade de carga que um pixel individual pode manter antes de saturar— ao contrario do sensor Toshiba da geração anterior de 16MP (tamanho do pixel = 1,34μm).

O TCM5115CL foi concebido para atender às demandas de alta qualidade, captura de imagem de alta taxa de quadros e gravação de vídeo em HD com suporte à suavidade, reprodução em câmara lenta e oferece altas taxas de quadros 60fps em 1080p e 100fps em 720p.

Os sensores de imagem CMOS são os principais produtos de negócio da Toshiba Analog and Imaging System. A adição do TCM5115CL à linha de sensores CMOS para câmeras digitais vai reforçar os negócios e apoiar a empresa em assegurar seu objetivo de obter uma fatia de mercado de 30% em 2015.
