"Mr. Throndson and Mr. Gerspacher are seasoned tax professionals that bring a wide breadth of experience that includes helping multinational companies solve complex tax, business and accounting issues," said Bob Saada, Managing Partner of PwC's Lake Erie market. "PwC is committed to growing our practice in Cleveland as evidenced by the addition of these two experienced partners. Additionally, we admitted five highly qualified individuals to the partnership earlier this year that represent all three of our lines of business, further demonstrating not only our commitment to our clients but also to the advancement of our people."
Tim Throndson has been named the Tax Leader for the firm's Lake Erie Market and will be responsible for leading PwC's tax relationships in Cleveland and the greater Lake Erie market while supporting the growth and development of PwC's talent in the region's tax practice. Throndson replaces senior tax partner Dave Lancia, who will focus full-time on serving some of PwC's largest clients in the market.
Prior to joining the Cleveland office, Throndson was based in Raleigh, NC, where he served as the Raleigh Site Leader and the Raleigh Tax Leader in addition to serving large public clients. Previously, he worked in PwC's Washington National Tax Office where he held several leadership roles, including leading PwC's national IRS service team and IRS managing accounts practice. Throndson earned his Bachelor of Science in accounting from the University of Northern Iowa and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in North Carolina.
"Mr. Throndson brings nearly 30 years of experience to his new role. I am confident he will provide excellent leadership for our robust tax practice and continue to drive client engagements that result in high levels of client satisfaction," continued Saada. "I would also like to thank Dave Lancia for his tremendous leadership of our tax practice. We are fortunate to have such strong leaders in our market."
Tim Gerspacher joins the Lake Erie Market as a tax partner where he will assist clients with general tax consulting matters, tax efficient structuring, international tax issues, and state and local tax issues.
Gerspacher joins the Lake Erie market from PwC's New York City office where he served as the lead tax partner on a number of large multi-national accounts. He led global tax transformation projects including the coordination of multiple teams, integration of data and the implementation of processes and supporting software. Prior to joining PwC, Gerspacher was a tax director for one of the world's largest transportation companies. He earned his Bachelor of Science in both accounting and finance from Washington State University, and a Masters in Taxation from the University of Washington. Gerspacher is a licensed CPA in New York and Washington State.
"We welcome both of these partners to Cleveland and look forward to their valuable contributions to our ever growing practice," added Saada.
