Many of us use Gmail, but I bet you didn’t know some of the tricks that Google has hid up its sleeve. For instance, when replying to an e-mail, did you know that if you select text you are replying to and then click the reply button, only the selected text will be quoted? Goodbye overly long e-mail threads, hello sleek minimalist design! Maybe you get tons of e-mails from certain friends or websites that aren’t spam, but don’t require your immediate attention. Let Gmail’s filters take care of those e-mails for you. Go to Settings and click the Filters tab. Click “Create a New Filter” at the bottom and set it up however you want. You can have Gmail automatically archive e-mails from certain senders or with certain keywords in the title, have those messages marked as read or have them sent straight to the trash. Letting Google do your work means less time sifting through your inbox and more time spent relaxing.
