In a move to lay the foundation for the bank’s growing technology needs, Champaign, Ill.-based Busey Bank ($3.5 billion in assets) has selected Computer Services, Inc. (CSI) (OTCQX: CSVI), a provider of end-to-end technology solutions that empower financial institutions to remain competitive, compliant and profitable, to provide both a new core system and other technology solutions to meet IT management and compliance needs. Busey selected CSI’s NuPoint core solution to provide cloud-based technology and help increase operational efficiency across the bank’s 43 banking centers in Illinois, Indiana and Florida.
Busey’s executives praised the ease of use, functionality and capabilities of NuPoint, but said the primary factor in selecting CSI was the service-oriented culture that matched the bank’s values.
“While improving core processing was a major focus in our search for a new technology partner, we wanted to work with a company that matched our focus on catering to the community and customers we serve every day,” said Van A. Dukeman, president and chief executive officer of First Busey Corporation. “We found CSI to be a company that values its customer relationships and remains focused on the communities in which it operates. The combination of CSI’s progressive technology offerings and positive cultural values made them an ideal partner to work with us.”
Busey Bank will implement CSI’s NuPoint solution, a comprehensive, customizable core banking platform that supports numerous fully integrated solutions. By leveraging CSI’s infrastructure, resources and expertise, the bank will eliminate hardware and software investments required for in-house systems. NuPoint also enables banks to establish customized views of information for each user at their individual workstations.
“Operationally, we wanted a partner that was flexible and responsive to our constantly growing needs,” said Leanne C. Kopischke, executive vice president and chief information officer for Busey Bank. “CSI was able to provide a back-end integration to ensure that the front-end user experience was exceptional, which increased the value in our decision to select them.”
In addition to the NuPoint core solution, Busey has selected several other CSI products to further meet its IT management and compliance needs:
- CSI’s Smart Branch Delivery system, which includes a custom website for each user, hosted at CSI, enables financial institutions to configure, maintain, update and deploy new branch capture programs without requiring a physical site visit;
- ATTUS’ WatchDOG Pro, a web-based watch list screening solution that makes scanning against OFAC and other U.S. and international watch lists easy and efficient; and
- ATTUS’ WatchDOG CIP, a web-based solution for developing a Customer Identification Program to ensure compliance with the USA PATRIOT Act, the Red Flags Rule and other federal laws and regulations concerning fraud, identity theft, criminal activity and terrorist financing.
“CSI has been successful for nearly five decades by focusing on serving banks with high levels of service and dedication, and financial institutions like Busey Bank value working with technology providers that share a customer-focused culture,” said Steve Powless, chief executive officer of CSI. “With the addition of Busey as our newest partner, we remain fully dedicated to providing a well-balanced mix of forward-thinking technology and valuable customer support to ensure our relationships with the banks we serve continue for many years.”
