CAMBRIDGE, UNITED KINGDOM -- (Marketwire) -- 11/13/12 -- Ubisense Group Plc ("Ubisense") (LSE:UBI) has announced a new offering called myWorld which leverages Google Maps(TM) and is aimed at helping enterprise users get the most out of their spatial data. Driven by customer demand to seamlessly combine enterprise data with map and internet data, Ubisense launched myWorld - a product to take advantage of rich features available through Google Maps, with fast and easy access to live information about a company's assets and operations. myWorld uses familiar Google(TM) search capabilities to query and display the location of data with Google Maps and Google Street View in a web browser.
Ubisense myWorld combines the best of breed functionality for asset visibility based on Google Maps and combines data from leading GeoSpatial products and other Enterprise Systems into a simple to use user interface. As a result of this new offering, businesses will now be able to benefit from more effective access to information, being able to seamlessly query and visualise data from across multiple data sources.
"The most common complaint we hear from customers about their enterprise mapping is that it is not as easy to use as Google Maps," says Richard Green, CEO at Ubisense. "As a result of leveraging Google Maps technology, myWorld from Ubisense will now make it easier to use and access data, adding value from being able to query across multiple data sources and delivering benefits to the employee as well as the business."
Businesses already have huge investments in existing systems and myWorld is designed to work in an integrated fashion with existing systems without creating the need to replace them. As such customers will get greater benefits by leveraging their existing investments and pulling together datasets from multiple sources which can then be visualised in one place. For example, being able to visualise network assets with a backdrop from Google Street View, combined with back office data, can greatly help workers understand a field job before going on site, reducing the need for multiple site visits.
"The unique combination of Google's outstanding innovation with mapping products and Ubisense's location pedigree enables spatial information to be accessed from either desktop or mobile devices using the familiar Google user interface. It's an ideal solution for managing processes such as inspection and maintenance or customer services through integrated access to all the information required. Now, almost any customer information from an enterprise system which has a spatial attribute can be integrated with Google Maps and become accessible anywhere." says Gillian Kendrick, VP of Geospatial Marketing at Ubisense. "Using integrated GIS, Workforce, Task/Order and other Enterprise information within myWorld is as easy to use as Google Maps."
