C Spire Wireless, the only U.S. wireless provider that offers personalized wireless services, today donated $20,000 to the American Cancer Society’s (ACS) Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative to help increase breast cancer awareness and research.
C Spire Wireless used its popular customer rewards program to help raise $20,000 for the American Cancer Society's Making Strides Against Breast Cancer initiative in October. ACS officials in Jackson, Miss. received the donation Friday during a presentation at C Spire corporate offices. The donation was a part of C Spire’s PERCS with a PURPOSE - turning its popular PERCS customer engagement and rewards program into a powerful giving machine to benefit the ACS during the month of October.
PERCS with a PURPOSE allowed members to share their own PERC reward points to raise funds for breast cancer research. C Spire customers shared nearly 600,000 points – helping the company get to its $20,000 donation goal.
“Breast cancer awareness and research is a cause that is close to our heart at C Spire Wireless and we are thrilled to provide the American Cancer Society with much needed funding to help women all over the country survive and thrive,” said Jim Richmond, vice president of Corporate Communications for C Spire Wireless. “C Spire has always made charitable giving a priority and we continue to look for ways to turn our current services and programs into vehicles for giving back to the people and communities we serve.”
Richmond went on to say that “PERCS with a PURPOSE is an easy and fun way to leverage our customers’ passion for charitable giving and engage them to get involved in the fight against breast cancer – a disease that has touched so many.”
PERCS with a PURPOSE allowed PERCS members to share their points by visiting cspire.com/purpose. Non PERCS members also participated by donating $5 to the ACS through a text to donate option (text HOPE to 20222) the company established for this purpose.
American Cancer Society officials praised C Spire for its donation of $20,000 through its PERCS with a PURPOSE program. “We’d like to thank C Spire and their customers for their amazing efforts and generous support,” said Lisa Roth, CEO of the American Cancer Society’s Mid-South Division, which covers six Southeastern states. “Funding from dedicated corporate partners like C Spire is essential to our organization and our mission to finding a cure for breast cancer. With the help of generous donations like this one, Making Strides Against Breast Cancer is celebrating 20 years of saving lives.”
C Spire’s PERCS rewards program is the nation’s first consumer engagement program that rewards customers for personalizing their wireless experience. Users can earn PERC reward points by simply interacting with the company and doing things like sharing their views on the company’s community social forum, being a loyal customer and engaging in activities on their way to personalizing their wireless experience.
Since its inception, C Spire customers have taken full advantage of PERCS’ benefits, with more than 263,000 members, including more than 45,290 non-customers, earning more than 100 million PERC reward points. The company is adding an average of 1,000 new members every day and continues to grow its offerings by allowing quick access to all kinds of rewards, including device and accessory discounts, easier upgrades, exclusive deals and more. To date, customers have redeemed their Status PERC points for more than 200,000 rewards and the company recently added the capability to redeem reward points for Amazon gift cards.
