StreamSend, a leading email marketing service provider and creator of the social marketing tool suite StreamSend Share, has outlined key steps businesses should follow so that they can automate their social and email marketing and reach customers with the information they want, when they want it.
“Now, businesses can really put the "automation" in social and email market automation,” said Dan Forootan, president of StreamSend Email Marketing. “They can take advantage of emerging technology and techniques to make their marketing efforts work harder -- automatically -- for their message and brand, and learn how those efforts are doing so they can make additional marketing decisions, automatically as well. ”
Here are seven steps StreamSend recommends to customers who are looking to increase their ROI “automatically”:
1. Make Your Message Work Hard
Write a piece once, then
deliver it everywhere: to Facebook tabs, in blogs, into the inbox and
out into the “share-o-sphere” via social.
2. Demand Action
Develop specific calls to action that
develop a target response, e.g., “Get on this list, Click for this
coupon, Get more info.”
3. Hit the Share Boards
Share the piece out through a
capability like StreamSend Share and pin it on share boards
automatically. Share boards collect followers who are automatically
connected to your messages.
4. Share the Wealth
Add value to shares with “click to
configure” and schedule capabilities. Schedule when it will be seen,
posted or delivered. Add tags to videos or other content that build
lists, directs viewers to further action. Or send a thank you note
automatically with a further call-to-action when an offer is signed up
for or viewed.
5. Follow up Automatically – and Easily
The auto-responders
of old have given way to simple “quick send” campaign follow ups. Invite
people to view a whitepaper and when they do, send a follow up
automatically, inviting them to access future white papers as they are
published. Set a “click to configure” on a video to ask a user to watch
the next video automatically or go to a link flashed on the screen for
more information. This is all executed as part of a campaign, leading a
user to a set of decisions. It does not have to be created in video
production, allowing base marketing materials to be re-purposed for
different goals.
6. Track and Act
Track and take further action.
Automatically determine if a piece was viewed or a specific area clicked
or viewed (even video) and then resend follow up, related information.
Track Social shares to determine how many people viewed and shared your
posts. Automatically email your latest shares or share board topics
creating engagement.
7. Take Control
Get the 10,000 foot view. Group actions into
campaigns. Track overall clicks, views and actions. Google analytics
should be integrated at every point so even further analysis is possible.
