Code 42 Software Inc., developers of award-winning onsite, offsite and online backup solutions for consumers, businesses and the enterprise, today announced it won a 2012 Tekne Award. Now in its 13th year, the Minnesota Tekne Awards honor those who play a significant role in discovering new technologies that educate, improve lifestyles, and impact the lives and futures of people living in Minnesota and all over the world.
Specifically, Code 42 Software was recognized for the widespread adoption of its personal and business backup technology. Presented by the Minnesota High Tech Association (MHTA), Tekne Award finalists were selected by an independent panel of judges, with winners recognized at an award ceremony held in Minneapolis on Nov. 1. A full list of winners is available online at www.mhta.org/2012-tekne-award-recipients.
“This year’s recipients, once again, raised the bar with the quality and originality of their entries and should all be very proud of their accomplishments,” said Margaret Anderson Kelliher, president and CEO, MHTA. “We are thrilled to recognize Code 42 Software for its proven leadership and commitment to technology development in Minnesota.”
“We’re honored to be recognized by MHTA as one of Minnesota’s top software companies,” said Matthew Dornquast, CEO of Code 42 Software. “Minnesota is an ideal environment for the founding and expansion of a high-growth, high-tech company like Code 42. As the knowledge economy continues to expand globally, so does the demand for our data protection solutions and services. Access to highly effective human capital is critical to our success, and Minnesota has that in spades.”
Just five years after launching CrashPlan, Code 42 now manages and protects more than 200 petabytes of data globally, across three products: CrashPlan for the home; CrashPlan PRO, an online backup solution for SMB; and CrashPlan PROe, an enterprise solution.
