After Hurricane Sandy canceled Monday’s Android event in New York, Google took to its blog to announce its new tech. Apple’s iPad finally has a true challenger in Google’s Nexus 10, which packs a whopping 300 pixels per inch into its screen, nearly 20 percent more than the Retina iPad. It has a nine hour battery life and a dual-core processor, and will ship on November 13 at $100 less than the iPad: $399 for 16 GB of storage and $499 for 32 GB. Google also debuted the Nexus 4, with a 4.7 inch screen, a quad-core processor and wireless charging. It doesn’t have 4G, though, which is tough to swallow. Both new devices will run on Android 4.2, a new version of Jellybean, which adds wireless streaming to Miracast-capable TVs, the television industry’s answer to Apple TV, as well as Gesture Typing, which is similar to Swype. Will these moves be enough to knock King Apple off its throne? Only time will tell.
