Cloud Computing: A Quiet Game Changer in Education

Enterprise Cloud News

Cloud computing is increasingly changing the education landscape, according to an article on CloudTweaks.com.

Thanks to could computing, students from different locations around the world can collaborate on assignments, rendering them interactive among their peers in education.

The ability to bring together students and teachers via device and to enable them to accomplish entire learning tasks as if they were together in one classroom is just one benefit of cloud computing in education.

Yet this is not even the entire capability of the cloud effect in education. There is the whole aspect of ‘information durability' which allows information to be stored in the cloud indefinitely, according to CloudTweaks.com.

Many schools have moved their resources online with libraries filled with hundreds of thousands of books that students can access at any time. The advent of online video has made the idea of cloud in education even more exciting because schools can produce teaching videos in any subject, upload them to their libraries in the cloud, and make them available to their students, according to the article.

Will Cloud Computing Start Being Taxed by Government?
A lot of businesses are using cloud services in an effort to save money. Some businesses, though, are starting to realize there could be additional cost them if the government started taxing everything they were doing in the cloud, according to an article on MidsizeInsider.com.

Massachusetts's top tax official, Amy Pitter, stated the "cloud" is an "evolving area of the law." A recent public letter signed by Pitter described the state's policies on which cloud services are taxable and which are not. Fortunately, for businesses, storing data in the cloud is currently not considered taxable in Massachusetts. But what about other states?

Last year at this time, only a handful of states were even looking at taxing any cloud-related product or service, now more than half of the 50 U.S. states are exploring how to tax cloud services, including SaaS. At this time, the U.S. government expects cloud services to fall under current tax laws, allowing each state to determine tax implications and guidelines. Unfortunately, as states start to develop guidelines, they are beginning to realize this might lead to new federal laws and regulations due to the complexity of cloud computing.

How Marketron Brought Radio into the Cloud Era
Cloud-service users now can do anything from turning sprinklers and lights on or off at home, to farm analytics, to running a data center. What you might not have known is that you now can run a radio or television station via cloud service, according to an article on eWEEK.com.

Most IT people already know that the sky's the limit in the cloud and that subscription services are getting more specialized all the time. At first, functions such as human resource management, health care services, accounting, sales applications, and other business use cases were the pioneers in enterprise clouds, and they remain standard use cases.

For generations, all functionality in a radio station, for example, happened in the same physical office. The traffic department moved its information to the on-air staff, and that all was separated from the account executives. Connecting the dots could often be a daunting task, especially if ad copy and art was late or simply out of sync.

Marketron's Mediascape platform is a SaaS solution in the cloud -- or on-premises, whichever a client prefers -- that allows media organizations to operate their stations' processes easier and more efficiently.

Read the rest of the article here to find out how Marketron harnessed the power of the cloud in its broadcasting efforts.

We all love the many benefits of natural plant oils, used as a deap treatment before shampooing, at home or at the beach, but is there an all-in-one solution for everyday intensive nutrition and modern styling?I am passionate about the benefits of natural extracts with tried-and-tested results, which I have used to develop my own brand (lemon for its acid ph, wheat germ for its fortifying action…).
