TwinStrata Earns Top Scores for Value, Product Features

Recognized as “Innovator” by IT analyst firm

TwinStrata earned top marks in Info-Tech Research Group's new report "Vendor Landscape: Cloud Backup Gateways."

  • TwinStrata was given Best Overall Value award for "coupling its impressive product with an appealing price," said the Info-Tech Research Group Research Document.
  • TwinStrata CloudArray® was the only product in the report given an overall score of "exemplary."

Nicos Vekiarides, chief executive officer at TwinStrata, stated, "The Info-Tech results validate our focus on meeting customer needs through our industry-leading feature set, broad solution partner ecosystem and flexible pricing models. We are pleased to have been rated top honors in both value and overall product; it's a testament to what we deliver to our customers every day."

Along with its high scores in product breadth and affordability, TwinStrata was recognized by Info-Tech Research Group as an "Innovator" in the Cloud Backup Gateway market. The Innovator category exists to identify vendors that have demonstrated innovative product strengths which act as their competitive advantage in appealing to niche segments of the market. According to the firm, these vendors are poised to emerge as "Champions."

Info-Tech Research Group Vendor Landscape reports help enterprise IT decision-makers identify a short list of vendors for their IT programs depending on their needs. Only those vendors which Info-Tech Research Group would recommend to its clients are included; TwinStrata was one of only six vendors assessed in the report.

"Ideal for mid-market clients, TwinStrata boasts a highly practical solution that takes advantage of off-site replication," John Sloan, lead research analyst at Info-Tech Research Group said in the report. "On a relative basis, TwinStrata maintained the highest Info-Tech Value ScoreTM of the vendor group. Vendors were indexed against TwinStrata's performance to provide a complete, relative view of their product offerings." The average Value Score of all vendors was 69.2 compared to TwinStrata's score of 100.

The report also cites TwinStrata customer Darryl Enfield, Director of Information Systems at Plug Power Inc., as saying, "TwinStrata has been great to work with - they made an exceptional effort to understand our business and needs, and then work with us in translating those needs into their product line. I'd rate them one of the top five companies I've ever worked with, from a pre-sales perspective to actually running the product."

Info-Tech Research Group Vendor Landscape reports recognize outstanding vendors in the technology marketplace. Assessing vendors by the strength of their offering and their strategy for the enterprise, Info-Tech Research Group Vendor Landscapes pay tribute to the contribution of exceptional vendors in a particular category.

While the focus and objectives of IoT initiatives are many and diverse, they all share a few common attributes, and one of those is the network. Commonly, that network includes the Internet, over which there isn't any real control for performance and availability. Or is there? The current state of the art for Big Data analytics, as applied to network telemetry, offers new opportunities for improving and assuring operational integrity. The Jevons Paradox suggests that when technological advances increase efficiency of a resource, it results in an overall increase in consumption. Writing on the increased use of coal as a result of technological improvements, 19th-century economist William Stanley Jevons found that these improvements led to the development of new ways to utilize coal. In his session at 19th Cloud Expo, Mark Thiele, Chief Strategy Officer for Apcera, compared the Jevons Paradox to modern-day enterprise IT, examin...
