IPinvestments Group Announces Record Number of Patent Transactions in First Quarter of 2012

IPinvestments Group, an intellectual property business advisory firm, today announced that they have negotiated and closed 25 patent sales and licensing transactions in the first quarter of 2012. The patent portfolio sales and/or licensing transactions were related to a wide range of inventions in many high tech industries.

The outlook for the remainder of the year is also very exciting as the market for patent portfolio acquisitions appears to be heating up again. Taking the spotlight in this push to acquire intellectual property have been the highly publicized acquisitions made by Apple, Sony, RIM, Ericsson, EMC, Microsoft, Google, and Facebook.

Ryan Strong, Principal at IPinvestments Group, commented, “Over the past year, the IP transaction marketplace has really been gaining momentum. Patent aggregators and NPEs continue to show significant interest in acquiring patents and/or patent rights, but the interest level from operating companies has certainly increased for us and is creating some exciting opportunities for our clients. We are very excited to see what the rest of 2012 and future years may hold.”

IPinvestments Group’s clients range from individual inventors to publicly-traded companies, both U.S. and international. Therefore, the size of the portfolios brought to market can be a single patent or portfolios containing hundreds of IP assets. IPinvestments Group’s professionals have extensive experience in negotiating the economics of IP-rich agreements and are well prepared to successfully navigate the complex process of selling or licensing high-end patent portfolios.

“IPinvestments Group has built a reputation of brokering high-end patent assets, as our price per patent average supports,” says Michael McLaughlin, Principal at IPinvestments Group. “We have the expertise to develop a customized monetization strategy for every client in order to truly maximize the value of any sized patent portfolio. Every portfolio is a unique technology by definition, and therefore presents unique situations that will dictate certain marketing strategies.”

Poor data quality and analytics drive down business value. In fact, Gartner estimated that the average financial impact of poor data quality on organizations is $9.7 million per year. But bad data is much more than a cost center. By eroding trust in information, analytics and the business decisions based on these, it is a serious impediment to digital transformation.
To Really Work for Enterprises, MultiCloud Adoption Requires Far Better and Inclusive Cloud Monitoring and Cost Management … But How? Overwhelmingly, even as enterprises have adopted cloud computing and are expanding to multi-cloud computing, IT leaders remain concerned about how to monitor, manage and control costs across hybrid and multi-cloud deployments. It’s clear that traditional IT monitoring and management approaches, designed after all for on-premises data centers, are falling short in ...
Machine learning has taken residence at our cities' cores and now we can finally have "smart cities." Cities are a collection of buildings made to provide the structure and safety necessary for people to function, create and survive. Buildings are a pool of ever-changing performance data from large automated systems such as heating and cooling to the people that live and work within them. Through machine learning, buildings can optimize performance, reduce costs, and improve occupant comfort by ...
