BuyATimeshare.com Applauds New Florida Timeshare Resale Bill

The Florida Legislature Has Passed a New Law That Tightens the Criteria for Timeshare Resale Companies to Operate in the State

MERRIMACK, NH -- (Marketwire) -- 03/10/12 -- Timeshare Internet advertising leader BuyATimeshare.com has thrown its support behind new legislation just passed by the Florida legislature designed to clamp down on rogue resale operators in the state.

Florida Senate Bill 1408, which has passed the full Senate during the last week of the 2012 Session following earlier approval from the Florida House of Representatives, now awaits the signature of Governor Rick Scott. Should the Governor sign the bill, as expected, the new law will take effect on July 1, 2012.

The new law will require all resale operators to obtain a signed contract from a timeshare owner looking to sell an interval before charging the owner for the cost of advertising. Such written agreements have been a standard practice of BuyaTimeshare.com and is just good business sense, according to company President and CEO Wesley Kogelman.

"We make sure that we have a signed, written contract with owners looking to advertise to sell their timeshare on our website so they understand exactly what they are purchasing," said Kogelman. "It is outrageous that some of these fraudulent companies call owners just to get their credit card numbers and hopefully this new legislation will result in these bad operators being put out of business to protect consumers."

BuyaTimeshare.com even provides verification of owner and resort information to make sure customers are advertising the correct property information and to verbally state the terms and conditions of the contract. The verification process increases customer satisfaction and operational awareness as everyone knows exactly what the owner is advertising for sale or rent so there is no misunderstanding about what is on offer.

"Our system is designed to intuitively confirm the resort information so buyers know that the week's resort information advertised on our site is exactly what's on the recorded deed. This makes for an easier purchasing process, ensures that the weeks are legitimate and what they see is exactly what they are going to get," added Kogelman.

The company's comprehensive marketing strategy also involves extensive search engine optimization efforts which bring the BuyaTimeshare.com website up on page one for Google searches for terms such as "buy timeshare," "I want to buy a timeshare" and "timeshare for sale." Such a strategy is what generated nearly $100 million in qualified offers for advertisers in 2011.

"We combine our SEO strategy with our pay-per-click advertising and other very intensive actions to make sure that our advertisers have the best opportunity to get their week in front of prospective buyers," stated Kogelman.
