"We did not invent the cloud," said EMC Chairman and Chief Executive Joe Tucci Tuesday, "but we definitely have recognized the opportunity early."
Tucci was speaking at an analyst event at which he stated that EMC expects its revenue to grow by 65% over the next four years on the back of virtualization and cloud computing initiatives.
Tucci was adamant, according to the Wall St. Journal report of the meeting, that these two technologies are destined to prevail throughout the IT world. "No segment of the industry," he declared, "will be immune to this disruption."
EMC is one of the many distinguished Exhibitors at 8th International Cloud Expo, which will take place on June 6-9, 2011, at the Javits Center in New York City, New York.
Last month, the Journal reminded us, EMC reported all-time record quarterly and full-year revenue and profits, aided by its majority ownership of virtualization software maker VMware which recently announced that its fourth-quarter profit had more than doubled year-on-year.
