Bingo Bango Software Inc., an Atlanta-based start-up, announced the release of Elicit. Elicit, a desktop blogging client, integrates leading web and RSS Services from the internet's giants in one application for the purpose of creating content for blogs. Elicit's service integration is one of several productivity innovations for bloggers.
"Web and RSS service integration is the promise of the next generation of desktop applications built with the Web 2.0 as a platform," says Eric Griffin, Chief Executive Officer of Bingo Bango Software, Inc. "Each of these services provide considerable value alone. But when integrated together, as they are in Elicit, they provide unprecedented productivity for the blogger."
Many bloggers have been using these services separately, going site to site, pulling the service's information together to create content for their blogs. In Elicit, each service is integrated as a "docklet." An Elicit service docklet are floating dockable windows whose content can be dragged and dropped into Elicit's blog entry editor.
Another productivity innovation is how Elicit allows the blogger to manage their blogs with a calendar. Many bloggers have more than one blog that are hosted on a variety of hosts like Typepad.com, Blogger.com and Squarespace.com. And many bloggers know they have to publish up to three entries a day to each blog to attract readers and search engines.
Elicit's integration of Amazon and Chitika enables bloggers to make money off of the "eye-balls" they attract to their blog. A blogger, as a member of Amazon's affiliate program, can search Amazon's massive online catalog. Once found, the links or pictures of items found can dragged and dropped from the Amazon docklet to Elicit's content editor. Embedded in the links are the blogger's Amazon affiliate ID that give them credit if the items sold.
Using Elicit's Chitika Blog Context docklet to generate ads enables the blogger, belonging to Chitika's Blog Context program, to create a context specific ad on the fly and drag and drop it into Elicit's content editor. This allows ads to appear within their content and their blogs generated RSS feeds. Previously ads had to be generated statically on the blogs web site.
Elicit provides an unprecedented level of productivity for bloggers by integrating the best web and RSS services on the internet for content creation. Elicit enables bloggers to manage dozens of blogs with a calendar and earn revenue from the readers they attract.
